Constructed with whale bone, enamel and a leather strap. The enamel disc mounted in the center of the maltese cross shows the profile of a rain dear, superposed over the white enamel which represents a region in Finland. Along the outer edges of the disc are the names of three towns within the region (Salla, Rovaniemi & Petsamo). The two square segments above the cross is printed "1942" & "Soumi" (another small town in Finland, probably where the craftsman lives). Incredibly unique item.
