Germany. Feuerschutzpolizei (Fire Protection Police) NCO Visor by Kupper
The cap is fabricated from navy blue wool, incorporating a 40 mm wide band in black velvet and a traditional high peak, with magenta piping along the top edge and flanking either side of the band. It is decorated with a tricolor cockade on the peak, the cockade with a painted black base incorporating a silvered ring and red felt center. The visor is missing its three-piece leather chin strap. The interior has a wide leather sweat band and the dome has a tan rayon liner with the maker stamped, “Peter Kupper, W. Ronsdorf.” It is also stamped, “Reichsbahn-Fileiderhalle”, which I believe was added after the visor was made and might indicate where the owner was stationed. The size of the visor is also stamped, “66”. Shows exceptional well.
