Constructed of Luftwaffe blue gray Fliegerblau (Flier's Blue) wool, with a wide black ribbed rayon cap band, traditional high peak with matching red piping along the top edge and flanking either side of the band, indicative of the Flak / Artillery Corps. It is decorated with a well-detailed silvered aluminum Luftwaffe eagle insignia on the peak (attached with thread) and an oak leaf wreath with stylized wings and cockade on the band.  The black smooth finished patent leather chin is  composed of three pieces.  The vulcanfibre visor has a smooth black leather-look upper and has a dark green synthetic underside. The trim piece on the visor has a 3” piece on the underside that is loose.  Inside of the cap with a sweatband in brown leather is as nice as they come.  The inside of the cap is lined in a copper-colored nylon, with the dome brandishing a celluloid moisture shield, marked in silver-colored ink with the manufacturer's name on the nylon lining "Emil Schebeler Berlin N O 55 Immanuelkirchstr. 6 Gegr. 1870" and dated "1938", size stamped in black ink "56 1/4" above the manufacturer's name.  Worn, but rates very fine.
