Germany. NSKK Dagger by Schüttelhöfer
This rare maker NSKK dagger is a real find. The hilt is really nice with nickel crossguards, a nickel plated tang nut (which has been turned at some point) and an excellent++ wooden grip all showing light wear. The blade still has some brightness to it with the normal drag marks, minor age spots and all of the lettering black is missing. The reverse is stamped with a RZM logo and RZM number, “M7 / 13” for the rare maker Arthur Schüttelhöfer & Co., Solingen-Wald. The scabbard is straight, dent free with the exception of the tip showing one small dimple. The scabbard still has 85 - 90% of its original paint. Hanger shows wear, but is completely intact and functional and is stamped, “M5 / 8” for E.W. Assmann & Sohne, Ludenscheid. The wide D-ring belt loop is stamped , “L.G. 391 Pommern”. Overall a really nice piece from a rare maker.
