US. Arrest Report for German Field Marshal List
HISTORY. Major Robert Schaefer, US Army (far left of the 3ed picture) was an attorney that worked the post WW2 war trials in Nuremberg, Germany. When Maj. Schaefer returned to the US, he brought this Arrest Report with him as a remembrance of his work in Nuremberg. It was purchased from his widow.
Wilhelm List was a German field marshal during WW2. List commanded the 14th Army in the invasion of Poland and the 12th Army in the invasions of France, Yugoslavia and Greece. In 1941, he commanded the German forces in Greece and Yugoslavia. In July 1942, he commanded Army Group A in the summer offensive in Southern Russia. Following the war, List was charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity and was sentenced to life imprisonment, but only served just over three years.
