Germany. Kriegsmarine "Reichskriegsflagge" Battle Flag, Version 1
Germany. Kriegsmarine "Reichskriegsflagge" Battle Flag, Version 1
$595.00
The flag is a large example of the first version (1935-1937) of the Reichskriegsflagge and measures approximately 98" x 59”. It is made of two-sided printed wool with reinforcement stitching around the edges and is complete with its rope attachments on the hoist edge. The hoist edge is also well-marked with the size of “250 × 150” (250cm x 150cm), Kriegsmarine eagle over the letter “M” (for Kriegsmarine), and the marking "Dt. Reichskriegsflg” (Germany Reich Kriegsmarine Flag) and a sewn-in maker tag for “Fahnenrichter, Gere, 1868, Koln” (Cologne, Germany, since 1868). The flag shows numerous small moth nips overall, but retains bright and vivid color. Overall an Excellent+ example.
