British. 1943 Iran Ring
British. 1943 Iran Ring
$110.00
HISTORY. Iran’s part in WW2 was one of those seldom told stories. The country was dominated by the British & Soviets, as they used the Iranian roads and railroads to move vital supplies into Russia. There is a slim change that this ring could have come from a Soviet soldier, but very unlikely since the British inhabited most of the larger towns that this ring most likely came.
The ring is made of silver and is approximately a size 10. It is typical of the type rings local artisans would make for the military personnel. It features an engraved Persian lion and the name “Iran” and date “1943”. It shows moderate wear from period use and comes with its original patina. Great piece of history.
