HISTORY. Issued as a shoulder board cypher for the Heer (Army) replacement division of the 44th Infantry Division (Reichsgrenadier Division Hoch-und Deutschmeiter), the original division being destroyed at Stalingrad.

This rare pair of cyphers has been vetted by several noted authorities.. Constructed of die stamped alloy with a silver wash and blue highlights to the inside of the cross. One cross has all four original prongs, while the other one is missing two of the four prongs. Light patina, but overall in Excellent++ condition.
