Germany. NSFK Kepi
Germany. NSFK Kepi
HISTORY. The National Socialist Flyers Corps, (German: Nationalsozialistisches Fliegerkorps; NSFK) was a paramilitary organization that was founded on April the 15th 1937. A successor to the German Air Sports Association, the latter had been active during the years when a German air force was forbidden by the Treaty of Versailles. During the early years of its existence, the NSFK conducted military aviation training in gliders and private airplanes. Many pilots were transferred from the NSFK into Nazi Germany’s newly formed Air Force (Luftwaffe). All personal were Nazi Party members, this gave the new Luftwaffe a strong Nazi ideological base in contrast to the other branches of the German military, which were composed of “Old Guard” officers from the German aristocracy.

The kepi is lined with a fine blue gray wool cloth and includes the standard celluloid diamond with the maker Carl Halfar of Berlin stamped under the diamond and the size “57”. Also included is a “NS Fliegerkorps” (NSFK) acceptance stamp in the kepi. The only flaw in an otherwise MINT Kepi is a small tear in the back of the head band. Super collector or investment item.
