U.S.S.R. Communist Worker's Youth Award Banner
U.S.S.R. Communist Worker's Youth Award Banner
Original USSR Communist Award Banner. Constructed of velvet with massive machine & hand embroidery. Front side has several repairs, but from a distance you hardly notice them. Translation: “The Red Flag is Awarded to the worker’s class Youth unit from Dedilovo by the name of the Third Red Guards Unit. The Best Communist Youth Brigade”. The town of Dedilovo has some interesting WW2 history attached to it. The town was occupied by the Germans from Nov 18, 1941 to Dec 15, 1941, when the Red Army’s 1st Guards Cavalry Corps liberated the village. However, the Germans had destroyed 937 out of 960 buildings during the occupation. Dedilovo still exists today with a population of 1700 persons. This is a piece of history we rarely see in the West. Incredible craftsmanship.
