Germany. Rare Post WW1 30 cal. Commercial Luger / Luger Carbine Combination

$4,995.00

HISTORY. Following WW1, Deutsche Waffen- und Munitionsfabriken (DWM) sales were down severely due to the punitive restrictions imposed on Germany by the Allies in the Versailles Treaty. In an attempt to spur additional sales, they created this carbine option that included both a 12'“ barrel w/ receiver and a Luger stock. Hoping this combination would provide more value in a Luger purchase, but it was not well received and the option was quickly dropped.

This combination walked into the Tulsa Gun Show about 10 years ago. A complete set all dating c.1920. Obviously the pistol was the most used vs the carbine. The pistol shows thinning around the barrel and up onto the forward part of the receiver. In addition, the high points show wear which brings the finish rating to about a 85%. With the carbine barrel attached it would rate a 97%. The walnut grips, the wooden mag and the bore are all excellent. The carbine barrel is stamped “051”, since they were sold separate the S/N don’t match. The carbine barrel bore is near MINT and so is the finish (only wear is around the muzzle). The stock is in Excellent++ condition. A rare piece of Luger history.
