Germany. P-38 SVW (Mauser) 45 Dual-Tone w/ Holster
HISTORY. The P.38 replaced the time-consuming and expensive P.08 (Luger). It was the numerically most common pistol of the German Wehrmacht. The production started in 1939 at Walther (AC) and at Mauser (BYF) and Spreewerke (CYQ) in 1942.
An all matching SVW (Mauser) 45 (1945) P-38 made at the very end of the war. There were 348,000 Mauser P-38s made during WW2 and this SVW was one of the last c.8,000 of them. This one is a duel-tone, nice bore, finish on these guns are never great, but this one is about 96% with some light surface contact on the right side of the slide, MINT original grips. Hardshell holster is excellent condition with maker stamped “gxy” and dated “1942” and a WaA inspection stamp just below.
