Germany. Luger "42" Code (Mauser) 1942 w/ Holster

$2,750.00

HISTORY.   The Luger was originally designed in 1898 by Georg J. Luger and first manufactured two years later by a German company called Deutsche Waffen-und Munitionsfabriken (DWM).  The Luger is a toggle locked, recoil operated, semi-automatic pistol that is normally chambered in 9mm Parabellum.  It utilizes an adjustable front blade sight and fixed V notch rear sight that is located on the rear toggle link.  It is fed by a single stack 8 round detachable box magazine, but it can also be fed by using a 32 round detachable drum.  The Swiss Army first purchased the Luger in 1900, followed by the German Navy in 1904 and German Army in 1908.  The popularity of the weapon is understandable – durable, well-made and with so many variations, making it the most popular collector gun in the world.

A beautiful all matching 1942 Mauser built P-08 Luger, Mauser code “42”, 98% original blue finish, 9mm, perfect original walnut checkered grips, nice bore, E/135 stamps, Holster “Ryffel & Born, Hannover” 1936 & WaA330. This is a classic end of production gun, since the “42” code was to stop being used in 1941, Mauser had a few more “42” codes left, so they used they with the new 1942 years date. Very interesting part of history.
