Germany. Cased Ortgies
Germany. Cased Ortgies
HISTORY. German pistols are well known all round the world. Famous names like DWM, Walther, Mauser and Sauer have produced millions of pistols for both the military and police. However, there are several less well known German makers like Dreyse, Ortgies, Haenel and Kommer that have made high quality civil pistols. These oldies are rarely used for their original purpose today and most of them can be found in museums and collections.
If you have never read the Ortgies history, it’s worth your time. This cased Ortgies, serial # 41,903, manufactured c.1921, has a nice bore, 98% finish, 7.65 / .32 ACP cal, Crown N proofs and MINT wooden grips with the “D” medal button for Deutch Werks. VERY unique grip safety. Super nice gun that shows perfect in its case for a collector.
