Measuring 412 mm with the scabbard on, this hewer features a 264 mm nickel plated steel blade, magnetic, with a serrated blade, pointed flat tip with blood grooves (fullers) on both sides and marked "GES. GESCHÜTZT" (Gesetzlich Geschützt) on the reverse ricasso. It retains its cross graining, exhibiting light drag marks near the tip, common to extraction and return to the scabbard, but is overall near MINT. The brown leather washer has been replaced by a black rubber washer. Extremely minor bubbling on the crossguard (I had to use a jewlers loops to see it) and contact marks. The bakelite grip plates are MINT. The pommel shows small amount of nickel plating. The scabbard is magnetic, straight with 95+% of its original paint. The frog is in stamped “Carl Busse, Mainz 1940”” and is MINT.
