Germany. SA Dagger w/Hanger & Belt Loop - Probably a Ground Röhm
This early SA dagger shows all the traits of a professional done Ground Röhm. The hilt has all nickel parts, all in excellent condition. The reverse of the lower crossguard is stamped “HO” for Hockland. The grip has a couple tiny chips and a hairline crack, approximately 3/4” that runs from the lower crossguard, but the grip is totally sound. The blade is fairly dull and the reverse appears to have been professionally ground, taking the Röhm dedication with it in addition to almost all of the markers mark (a little research might be able to identify the marker). Also, there are a few chips in the blade, to include the tip (see photos). The excellent anodized scabbard has nickel plated mounts that have matching patina to the hilt nickel parts and is straight and the only dent being in the tip. The hanger & D-ring belt loop are complete and functional. A lot of history wrapped into this dagger and would make a nice addition to anyone’s collection.
