Germany. Early SA Dagger by Herdera
Germany. Early SA Dagger by Herdera
The hilt is Excellent++ with nice detail and a nice even patina on the nickel crossguards and a tang nut. The reverse lower crossguard has a SA Gruppe stamp “wf” for Westfalen. In addition, the lower reverse grip is stamped with a unit destination “2/Wm”. The scabbard is an anodized version that is straight without dents and has very nice patina on the nickel mounts. The reverse upper mount is also unit stamped “2/Wm”. In addition, it comes with a leather hanger that is complete and functional. The blade has light drag marks, even graying, most of the motto black missing and several minute nicks on the blade edge. The reverse ricasse has the rare marker mark for “F.HERDERA.S, SOLINGEN”. Overall this is a nice early SA dagger with a rare marker, SA Gruppe stamp & unit stamps on both the grip and scabbard. Great collector piece.
