They fought at Monte Cassino and remained in Italy for the rest of the war. The picture on the back cover was taken in St. Marks square in Venice, Italy. This book is signedthroughout by Hauptmann Beyer commander of 2nd Battalion Regt. 4. He was the commander during the second battle of Cassino in 1944. The 1 F.J. Division was formed in Russia in autumn of 1942. The Division distinguished itself in the battle of Cassino.
