HISTORY. Authorization of May 15, 1939 decreed that the highest ranking diplomates (Including Von Ribbentrop) visors could be adorned with gold cord, side buttons, piping and hand-embroidered insignia. Before this time they were all silver. All described in, “In the Service of the Reich” by John R. Angolia.
Magnificent hand-embroidered gilded flat, twisted, and rolled bullion wire on black wool base. Black cloth backer. Measurements of 125mm by 55mm. Unissued & MINT.
