Light gray thread on a black wool background. The Finns only fielded a battalion of approximately 1,400 men and they served from mid-1941 to Mid-1943 on the Eastern Front as motorized infantry and fought with the 5th Waffen-SS (Wiking) Division. The battalion sleeve shield was made in three different types. This patch is the last type (Type 3), the RAREST, the only one made in Germany under the RZM and producted at Dachau. It is estimated, they were made about May 1943 (only 2 months before the battalion disbanded). Unissued & MINT.
