HISTORY. These long telescopes are called a spyglass because it was used to read signals from naval vessels up to 10 miles away.

This is a 31” U.S. Navy 16 power, Mark II, Mod 1 ships spyglass. Manufactured in 1943 by Hayward Lumber co., Los Angles, CA. The spyglass comes in its original wooden case with the manufactures identification plate attached. Great piece of history!
