HISTORY. The Type A-11 intermediate flying helmet was standardized on August 6, 1943 and became one of the most popular and widely utilized helmets during World War II. It has snaps on the side of the helmet that were employed to secure the oxygen mask.The rubber earphone mountings were designated for the Type ANB-H-1 radio receiver.

Constructed of soft brown leather. All snaps, buckles, etc. are tightly sewn right down to the medal tip on the chin strap. Tagged on the inside as a “Medium” size. This cap has an internal liner which has a tear, but that doesn’t detract from it as a display. Overall it an Excellent example.
