HISTORY. Instituted 1 May 1937. (1943-1945 issue).
Constructed of gilded silver with enamels, consisting of a Maltese Cross with white enameled arms, joined together through the quadrants by NSDAP style German national eagles clutching wreathed mobile swastikas on white enameled discs, the twelve o’clock arm topped by a ribbed fan suspension culminating in an integral loop and ribbed ring retaining a period original neck ribbon. The integral loop is marked “900” for silver content. It measures approximately 50 mm (w) x 59 mm (h), weighing 27.4 grams. Unmarked but demonstrating the physical characteristics of manufacture by Gebrüder Godet, Berlin. Enamel is flawless. A striking example demonstrating Godet’s noted quality. MINT.
