Rare combination of two Iron Crosses, 1st Class from both WW1 & WW2. The 1914 Iron Cross is the standard 3 piece construction, with slight separation of the silver frame on the right & left sides. The 1939 clasp is nicely arched. Both pieces are unmarked. The connection of the two pieces is obviously a period jewelers work. However, the vertical pin back has had the hinge and catch more recently reattached. Overall a great piece of history rating an Excellent+.
