Constructed of silvered tombac with the initial manufactured frosting still covering the entire clasp. In the standard form of a German national eagle with out-spread wings clutching a wreathed mobile swastika on-top of a banner dated “1939” within a pebbled field. The reverse plain, with a vertical pinback and a unique counter-sunk barrel hinge, with a flat wire catch; marked “L21” for “Förster & Barth, Pforzheim” on the reverse - a rarely encountered maker of this award.
